Being a current senior here at Brooklyn College, soon to be graduate with a Communications degree, I learned the importance of achieving this degree and how much value it can have. We are surrounded by many different types of communication each day. But more importantly what I realized, was most jobs I've been in, many issues consisted with poor communication ( which I bet most can relate to) and that's what began to drive my interest. Futhermore, I soon learned that yes communications in fact can be analytically studied day to day, along with having so many theories and studies.
T his week we dived into discussing certain writing systems and the the writing system of Korea came to interest me. So who was King Sejong? Who was King Sejong? And what did he create? KING SEJONG was the fourth king of Joseon-dynasty Korea and he was the one who instituted Han’g ŭl. King Sejong was aware that Koreans didn’t have a writing of their own and he felt that Chinese writing could not match the complexity or grammar like Koreans. And knew that there can be another writing system where his people can express more of their emotions and create a writing system so that everyone can have a chance to learn. So thats when he developed Han’g ŭl. Han’g ŭl wasn’t originally accepted because of prior Japanese occupation. They were against it because Japan and Korea had differences when it came to writing.
